FuelerLinx USER GUIDE - Tankering Basics
SUBJECT: Basics of Tankering
First step, select or build a trip you’d like to run a multi-leg tankering calculation on.
Once selected/built, select “Get Fuel Quote”
Pricing will appear as normal, and instead of simply selecting the “Dispatch Fuel” option, FIRST, review the “Triangle” guide of information prior to calculating your trip.
The “Triangle” (highlighted below), just directs you to select your FBO/preferred Vendor (when applicable), review the Notes provided by the Vendor as well as any Internal Notes, as well as verifying your current Ramp Fees using the “Ramp Fee Widget” shown on the right side of the page. All of these variables are important to confirm for best accuracy of the calculation.
After checking the Triangle, select the “Tankering Planner” tab to adjust/customize any of the flight planning details including inputting in your “Starting Fuel” value, any “Alternate” location, and your specific “Performance Profile.”
These details are set based off the Defaults in the account’s Settings>Aircraft List & Performance section of the account & can be customized per leg of the trip as necessary.
Most Performance Profiles are generated from the SkyPlan service & is aircraft specific while the “Custom Fuel Burn” and “Custom Cruise Speed” can be input by the user & overridden based off user preferences.
Now simply select “Calculate Tankering” to begin the calculation & allow the flight planning engine to crunch the numbers, aircraft specifications, ramp fee/avoidance, volume discounts, and ppg using the complex algorithms powered by FuelerLinx.
When complete, a “FuelerLinx Savings Index” will appear with totaled amounts along with an additional tab “Tankering Results”
Here, you can see anything from the verbal “Tankering Logic” to the amounts of uplifts, routing parameters used by the calculation, as well as the cost of each leg.
Send these results in an email format (also can be customized in your user settings), by selecting the ‘Hamburger’ icon in the top right of the page. Select “Send Trip Summary” and then “Tankering Summary” or any customized option that is available.
Choose who to copy on this email & select “Send Summary”
If you’re satisfied with the results, you are almost done! Go through the Dispatch process as normal- Select “Dispatch Fuel” and choose who to copy on the request for fuel releases (where required).
