FuelerLinx USER GUIDE - Understanding the Quoting Process
SUBJECT: Understanding the Quoting Process
When
initially dispatching for pricing, the prices are being pulled from either the
vendor’s Web Service or CSV file with the most updated pricing. Web service
pricing is updated directly from the fuel vendor’s website using an API. CSV file
pricing is using the most recent CSV file sent directly from the fuel vendor (typically
within the past week or so).
Once
fuel has been dispatched, the fuel pricing is subject to change up until the
time of fueling. If the price changes prior to the day of the trip you will be
able to tell by a triangle indicator next to the fuel PPG within ‘Transactions’.
A red triangle indicates the fuel price rising while the green triangle
indicates the fuel price lowering.
On the day of uplift the market price will
update at about 9-10pm PT ensuring the correct uplift price is in the system. It’s done at this time in case price sheet
are late to arrive to ensure discrepancy checks are accurate.
You
can see if the pricing has changed post dispatch by viewing the individual
transaction. As you can see in the screenshots below, if the pricing changed
you will see ‘Market Update’ in the fuel details rather than ‘Dispatched PPG’. You
can always view the dispatched PPG in the ‘Transaction Information’
